Hi I can't patch Dawn of Discovery. When I download patch 1.2 from ubisoft, it says I must have original copy of dawn of discovery installed. I'm guessing this is because it's looking for a directory other than where Steam has installed the game.

Lately I haven't been able to load my continous games, it just says "load unsuccessful" or something like that then returns to the menu. Then sometimes when it does load, I'll have white blank spots on the map. That's why I wanted to patch it, to see if it will go away.

Any help?

Steam is automatically update the game if you have buy the Steam version. No need to manually update.

Not to 1.2. Last update for steam was in October 2009, the latest patch (1.2) came out in February this year. I haven't seen/had an update downloaded for this time.

I was playing the game today and it just closed down, afterwards I couldnt load the previous game and the one I could load had white spots on the map... Whats up?

I too am interested in knowing when 1.2 is coming to Steam. Do any mods read this who could help find out?

(I don't own Venice and don't intend to buy.)

Patch was released on steam they just never put it on the news update section. Version is displayed as 1.02 not 1.2 for Dawn of Discovery in game.

You've never been able to download a non steam game patch and use it with the steam version of games. Steam requires it own special patches and DoD is up to date in regards to having all of the patches the non steam versions received.

I really, really appreciate this clarification. That is very nice to hear.
