EDIT: Oh happy day! Now i can't even start the game directly from the L4D2 folder. It starts up. Shows the valve "commercial", shows the intro and tabs out and gives me error 10 after trying to "complete installation"... Damn you to hell steam! My game is worth NOTHING right now...

Slow downloads and servers busy is happening far more frequently than it should. Hopefully valve is reorganizing the infrastructure around steam to deal with these problems. Once the mac client goes live this can only get worse without a rework of steams infrastructure.

same errors for me, and what makes this 100% more bollox is the lack of information from Steam! They know about the problem, they know there are now 100s of post from there customers wanting advice, yet they stay silent. TOSSERS.

If you check the errors codes for this problem they offer advice about altering port settings and or router settings! But I wouldnt advise you to do this as it could get fixed by steam soon and then whatever you altered could give you further problems. so DONT follow Steams advice until your sure you need to.
And THIS is why Steam should get off its lazy ♥♥♥♥e a$$ and add some F&kin info to this forum with decent advice re the new error/problem.

Before I knew the error code i had done a few integrity checs, suddenly I saw 45 files that wern't validated, then my installation progress wnet from 1 to 3 and my error code from 16 to 20.

Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait:)

This error was pretty common right after the game was unlocked on Steam.

It usually has to do with not being able to connect to the Steam servers. It's likely not YOUR connection, but because of the MW2 free weekend there is a lot of traffic on the Steam servers right now.

I'm really frustrated with Steam lately. I've bought a couple of games (Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Left 4 Dead 2 amongst others) and there's always some problem. Server down, unable to login, funky patch with game killing bug. It reminds me of why I switched to console gaming a couple of years ago. Just put in the disc and boom. Well after the installation, update and patch.

So I've been getting the same error Incomplete Installation (16). I've tried deleting my local files and re-downloading the game, which unfortunately did nothing. I've also tried it by disabling all my firewalls but still nothing. The problem only started with this most recent update.
