So I thought, instead of having dozens of threads about pros/cons of all the guns and how to improve them, I have made the guns thread.

For starters: The shotgun - I think this weapon needs to have an efficiency boost. As it is, its only useful for very close range combat, and you are usually sniped before that ever happens. As a result, nobody usually ever uses this weapon.

My proposal - Either increase the accuracy/range of the shotgun, or give it a major increase in rate-of-fire. I think the latter would be better, because it would basically be insta-kill if you ever got *that* close to anybody. Increasing the fire rate would make the shotty a much more daunting weapon, which it should be, because getting killed at close range every time by a rifle even when you have a shotgun just shouldnt happen.

Maybe its just me but it always seems like I must empty three shots into someone with the shotgun before they go down. Increasing the ROF would at least give more players an incentive to use the shotty.

As for the rail gun, anything more than 2 shots to kill would make the gun worthless as a sniper, so no I disagree with you there.

Now thats what you call profanely overpowered.

PS. Did I miss the build in which that gun was 1 shot kill? Ever since Ive started its always 2 shots.

I think the gun models just need to be jazzed up a bit. maybe even add some more tech to them (return of the ammo counter anyone?) give the rail gun a laser range finder for that future feel, things like that.

I've never seen otherwise.

I just think the RG needs a flashier barrel, the AR needs a new paint job, and all of them could use a few more nurnies.

They ALL need a paint job. The black/white paint is UGLY.

I also think the SMG is OP. I just go around spamming it and get 3:1 K/D.

the railgun is two shots to kill i think. in the video there are several instances where i need to hit twice or switch to pistol, even when fairly close, but sometimes one body shot is enough, even at range. those targets were prolly not at full health.

the OP thing about the railgun is the fact that, unlike in any other fps i can think of now, you have x-hairs with sniper weapons on the hud when not zoomed in.
