Hello all :)
I read through the stickies and faqs, and tried some Search-Fu
(that failed miserably with almost no results... or too many to
go through them all ;) but if I missed some precious post please
point me to it, I'll be glad to check it for any solutions :)
I love the game - always have, always will (just to reassure
everyone that I'm not a random complainer - lol ;)
My not-so-minor problem though is that when I play with keyboard
and mouse (which I find to be a lot easier than with the xbox
controller) I have a half-second lag when walking (or rather,
running!!) around... I'm pretty sure it's not the game freezing
because the klees (sp? I can't remember their actual names ;) and
all the other monsters keep on running towards an increasingly
panicking me who can't move for the love of...well... life!
I noticed it happens more if while running I move the mouse up
or down (and I've deactivated vertical sync too)... basically I
have to tap the keyboard again to have Sam move again, otherwise
he stands still for half a second before moving again... and we
ALL know how fatal half a second of "stillness" can be in this
game ;) lol
IT happens with any direction, a w d or s :(
If I use the xbox controller I have NO problems whatsoever, everything
is as smooth as...ehr...something very very smooth (lol).
But I really suck with the xbox controller... I find myself pointing
my guns in all directions except towards the enemy and I waste a
TON of ammo :(
I would really like to use the keyboard and mouse, which I find
almost a necessity against the hordes and swarms of monsters this
great game offers!!
I'll be glad to post the log if you tell me which parts you need
to see, it's quite long and I haven't got a clue about which parts
you might find more useful to see...by the way, is it the one in
this directory:
"steam\steamapps\common\serious sam hd the first encounter\Log"
with the file name being SamHD.txt? Or is it the All.txt log you
might need?
My PC specs aren't top of the pop or the latest available, but
they should be enough to run Serious Sam without problems:
Win XP SP3
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+
ATI Radeon HD 3800 Series
3 GB RAM
I think they're enough because with the xbox joypad the game is
as smooth as it can be (and my friends kick a$$ ;) but when I try
to play with the keyboard I get mawled and trampled by everybody
while Serious Sam stands still as if struck by a Serious panic
attack!! lol
What can I try to fix this keyboard lag??
