Demo activation not working?

Hi,
Just downloaded the demo via Steam and followed the instructions to link this demo to my STO account. The web page launches with what looks like the Key in the URL but then redirects to the STO homepage saying the 'There was a problem with your request, please contact us for support here.'

Any one else had this problem?

Something like that my problem too. Download via Steam and try log in with my exist STO beta, Champion Online account. But with no succes. Maybe a new account?

Maybe you have to be logged in on the star trek site for it to work, it registeres your account to play the demo :)

It's said nowhere but actually worked for me :)

I found this link by guessing what the "..." were in Mr.Paincakes's link. I found it was mostly the same URL used when redirected from steam... how lucky :)

To fix this issue open steam, go to library find the installed STo in your games list, right click and select DELETE LOCAL CONTENT.

This will stop you from wasting vital and precious time in your life on a useless and pathetic excuse for a game.

There are 1000 other things you can do that are more entertaining than playing Star Trek online like watching paint dry or having your skin flayed. :D

Seriously however I am not surprised one little bit that your having issues trying to get the Demo to work it took Cryptic a whole 2 months after launching the game to realise they missed adding content to the game.
