Ive watched a few Beta videos online, and it doesnt look like HDR is in any new levels. Ive read here that Motion Blur and HDR is being implemented, but can anyone confirm that they are in all the maps?
Ive always wondered why Valve never got around to adding HDR to all the maps, this would be a perfect time to do it...

because HDR doesn't add that much to a level except when exaggerated in the Lost Coast demo and then it was just totally silly. (I step into the sunlight and it takes 5 whole seconds before I see anything again. Real human eyes don't need as much as 5 seconds to adapt. they adapt much quicker).

It actually takes around 5 minutes to adapt to bring sunlight coming from darkness, in addition it takes around 25 minutes to adapt from bright sunlight to complete darkness.

Motion blur isn't something that is on a per-map basis. HDR is, however, but that hasn't been implemented in all maps yet.

Expect it in the coming days, all the maps will have to have their lightmaps redone and have to be compiled again.

I can't fathom why motion blur on lcds is popular or wanted but I hope they bring hdr to all maps cause aztec looks dead without it.

The motion blur in TF2 and DoD:S is very subtle and really doesn't detract from the game. It does make quick flicks look a lot more realistic (strange term to use for TF2) in that your eyes won't be able to see all that's going on at the time.

HDR adds a nice effect to the lighting already in place. I know the source engine is dated, but its the only graphical improvement I was expecting CSS to get.
Jesus where did you hear that the levels are being redone? If so thats awesome :)
All this is cool and all, but still I think its about time for Source engine 2, and Counter-Strike 2 already :\

It's not about hearing it, it's just knowledge from being a mapper, to get the HDR working properly they'll have to go through and redo a lot of the light maps and recompile the maps. :)
