Hopefully some developers pays attention to the competitive gameplay that they will make some server commands that removes stats systems and all the achievements systems. Also it would be a good update if those things just would be removed after the beta testing. The best thing that developers could just do is to leave normal CS:S be and update all the newest engine features into it and don't add anything rubbish public stuff. It would be the best choice for the community and competitive gameplay.

Stuff like multicore support, netcode fix, engine updates are very good for the game and that just should be fine.

Seriously, anyone fighting against new things that have no bearing on the gameplay is either really dumb or really young.

What the comp community should get is the same commands TF2's comp community has.

Exactly.

You will find, OP, that the competitive community receives much support from Valve in TF2.

However, that doesn't change the fact that nothing so far in the beta (short of unfixed bugs) has intentionally changed the gameplay of CSS in anyway. These little multiplayer extras should be able to be disabled by cvars or plugins by server owners, and will be done when the devs get around to it.

There really is nothing to worry about.
