I had trouble with seasickness when I first played. I thought I was playing at a non-native resolution because it appeared so blurry.

The issue is actually the "Color Correction" and "Motion Blur" options. If you look at the image, the game looks fine without it, but extremely blurry with it. I suggest turning those options off.

That said, the rest of the game works fine for me. Great job Valve!

This fixed the problem! Portal now looks like it's being rendered at native resolution as it should.

I was starting to think Valve was "cheating" because of possible low Mac graphics driver performance, but I see now that it isn't the case. Thanks!

perfect, disabling those 2 fixed the issue straight away! it now looks like it does on windows :)

Thanks, I hadn't thought of switching off color correction. I can't believe it made such a big difference. I left motion blur on, though, as I really don't notice any difference having it on or off. So far, Portal is pretty much running as well as it does on Windows, except I had to reduce texture quality from Very High to medium. Everything else is the same as Windows' settings (High on everything but AA and such). I have a feeling this is due to Apple's current video drivers than Valve, though, so hopefully it'll be fixed with time.
