Does anyone know anything about whether cs 1.6 will be released for the Mac in the nearest future?

well considering it's a goldsrc game, it will probably take a while. Considering Valve will probably release source games first, considering there is a mac binary for source, but probably not goldsrc yet.

though because CS 1.6 is such a popular game it may be sooner. but one things for sure it will release on a wednesday.

If it didn't already have OpenGL, they would definitely not do it, but since it does, i think its a possibility.

AFAIK, GoldSrc does indeed have an OpenGL renderer (as well as a pure software renderer). It's definatley a possibility, but most likely a lower priority over Source engine games.
