Valve,

Many people love Steam for Mac, as you can see from a large number of threads and posts. Many people also reported certain bugs or issues several times, as well as requested a specific feature addition or change several times.

We'd love to hear back from you :). Would be great if there could be an official valve-maintained thread that lists all issues/features you're aware are being requested and/or what you're planning on implementing in the short term, long term, and never. It would make us feel better knowing that stuff we're requesting is being heard loud and clear... It would also help eliminate seeing the same request a dozen times ;).

Cheers,

Maybe they're not responding cause they're so busy working on everything we've requested.

in that case we should not expect to hear from them in a year or more.

Nownow, they'll get it done in no time. Meanwhile, enjoy the upcoming summer. ;)

I've seen one or two Valve replies in the Steam for Mac threads, but only for critical issues (client crashing/not starting). The UI 2010 beta change log thread was really useful, and I would REALLY love to see one for the Mac client. Just makes you feel good knowing input you made is being used.

They don't pay developers to sit on forums and handle the masses, the moderators should be doing that. Either way I support this thread.

Would like to hear:

1) Will Valve address the "being a good OS X citizen" bugs such as installing files in the right location and making the games work properly in the Dock, or are we stuck with this Steam 1.0 architecture for a while?

2) How do you feel about forking the front-end UI in a Mac-specific version (possibly even Cocoa-based), or are we stuck with just a skinned version of Windows Steam?

3) What's the word on the performance differences between Windows and Mac? Is this going to go away or does it come with the territory?

Most of the differences are due to poor graphic drivers.
