Unable to connect to the steam network

Hello,

I launched steam and it downloaded the updates nicely, but when trying to log in to an existing account, I get this error: Unable to connect to the steam network.

Firewall disabled. Should have nothing to do with my internet connection since it downloaded the updates nicely.

Any ideas?

Check to see if you're running Peer Guardian. Disabling Peer Guardian filters fixed this issue for me.

did you turn on dmz for your computer ?
close it ,i did it and i log in ~~~
