View Full Version : What anti-cheat does UT3 use?

It doesn't use punkbuster or VAC. Does it use something else? Or nothing at all?

If it does not have any anti-cheat I'm impressed running all the major servers in this game, because during the 300+ hours I've played this I've only seen 1 cheater.

community members report cheaters who get banned from servers/ booted. Some servers are full of cheaters tho, if admins not very good

PURE used to be good at identifying cheaters back in the day.

These days, cheating is handled on a per server basis. If someone cheats, then if the admins on a server are not lazy (or even there to begin with), they will likely be promptly banned.

not true at all. What game are u playing? the servers I play Unreal 3 on are always full.

It's a fantastic anti-cheat called 'The Honor System'. :p

No anti cheat for any ut game.
So play with who you trust .
I only play against bots for this reason.
Its upto the server admin to ban someone (good luck if he doesent cheat) :(

Noone bothers to create decent hacks for UT3 since there's only few hundreds people who play it. TBH, I like it this way, I always know against who I'm playing. New players usually think some players are hackers. But since UT3 has so few players, the ones who still play it play it with heart and are pretty good at it and they don't need hacks. This is a game from pre-MW era when people actually counted on others playing fair and not using cheats. As Sir_Brizz said, it uses 'The Honor System'. UT3 is hippy among shooters.

^. Also, I haven't seen any cheaters. Maybe because in really fast-paced games like Quake and UT, being good seems like cheating.
