So basically I bought Tropico 3 in the Steam sale yesterday, My PC is more than capable of running this game, the demo works fine etc.
But when I launch the game, my screen goes black and the "No Signal" icon appears and moves around the screen.
I have tried forcing it to load in lower resolution, reinstalled it TWICE but to no avail.
I'd like to F**king play this game, so please do anyone have any help on my specific error? I've seen lots of other threads but none have solved my problem.
Thanks.

Could be the game's default settings are not quite compatible with your system's graphic-card and/or monitor?
Take a look at the following thread, especially post #4 there, with some info that may be worth trying:

It may give you a chance to at least change the in-game's graphic settings to something that would be compatible with your graphic-card and/or monitor.

When searching for Tropico related files on my PC, the only one that comes up is an empty folder in "Pictures"
What the?
Please does anyone have a solution to this or have I just wasted my money on a dud download.
FML.

Look where you have your Steam client installed on your computer, then the path should be something like: ..\steamapps\common\Tropico 3

I've done that and even that won't force it into windowed mode.
This is beyond a joke now, how do I contact Steam for a refund?

Bummer! Too bad you're having such problems with this game. It's really a lot of fun when/if it works properly and without bugs.
Steam doesn't really offer refunds (though they may make exceptions if you present a strong enough case):

Most likely you'll get a canned message to contact the developer of the game.
Still, you could submit a support ticket to Steam Support and hope to see if you get any kind of positive response from them.
You may also consider becoming a member over on the Kalypso forums, post your details over there, read through various posts and such, and maybe someone over there can offer some good advice to you to help you get things running:

Good luck!

No luck anywhere, I've done absolutely everything in my power to try and fix this. Have they broken the game or something?

Riot: I feel your pain. Its really frustrating when plunking down good money for a game and it doesn't seem to work no matter what you try and your system specs meet or exceed all requirements.
Here's an earlier post I made with some suggestions for another user that was having trouble getting Tropico3 to run:

Don't know if any of that advice might help or what of that you may have already tried, but worth a look.
