View Full Version : 360 Controller problem

Hello everyone,

I've got a huge problem with the 360 controller support of this game. When I try to control the movement or actions by mouse everything works fine, but if I use my 360 controller it always centers the pointer. That makes it almost impossible to move forward or to fire any actions.

Better description:
The pointer is at Point A (e.g. center of the screen), if I use the mouse to move the pointer it moves to where I point it and stays there.
If I use the controller stick to move the pointer from A to B it doesn't stay at B. It always flips back to A and kinda hangs in an infinite loop (when I keep pressing the stick in one direction).

I've already tried to unplug my mouse but that did not help. There are no other pointing devices plugged in.

Has anyone had the same issue, or does anyone know how I can fix this problem ?

Side note: I know the mouse would be a better device for the job but I'd like to play the game from my couch on my new HDTV.
And the controller works fine in every other compatible game.

Thanks in advance for any helpful answers.

You know this is a 'point and click' game, right? I also find a controller preferable to a k+m in some situations, but for a Monkey Island game? Seriously?

Anyway, if you're still adamant that you'd like to play the game from your couch, then perhaps using a wireless mouse on a nearby table, or sturdy book, to give you a flat surface? Or maybe one of those wireless keyboards with a mouse nubby bit on the side? Controller support is not included in this game, nor is it likely to be.

Hi anye123,

you might want to read my sidenote again where I state that I'm well aware that a mouse would be a better device, but that does not solve my problem.
Also take a look at the system requirements of this game in the Steam store, there it says controller support at two different places:

1. Controller support: Xbox 360 controller
2. Controller enabled

And there are ingame options to turn on controller support which I obviously did.

Anyway thanks for your suggestion, but that does NOT help me.
I would be very grateful for any solution to the buggy controller support.

Otherwise, is there anyway to return a steam game because of false advertisement in the store ?
Event though it's a great game, I'm not willing to support something that does not work like it's supposed to.
