i hust read this on the gmod website
Everything seems to be working fine right now. There’s no obvious changes (apart from a few goodies I saw in the source code). The obvious benefit of being on this codebase is that it’s Mac compatible, so we should eventually be able to put out Garry’s Mod for the Mac.
So, why fcking bother with the Mac. Is it worth it, is it going to sell loads of copies of GMod? Well, I don’t know. But I do know that it isn’t going to cause it to sell any fewer, so what’s the harm.
I haven’t actually got it compiling on a Mac yet (I don’t even know whether the code I’ve got is the complete Mac compatible code, no-one from Valve have announced it to us). The Mac is in the office, which is still full of builders.
ETA is when it’s done. There’s still a few bugs I need to mess with to get it back to how we’re used to. Plus I want to hang back until I’m sure this is the actual shipping code.
