Well, I'm not sure if it's related to today's Steam client update, but Galcon crashes now. It worked fine yesterday.

My other Steam games load fine. I don't see anything particularly wrong, though these messages are logged to the Console:

...I checked, and all of those files are in the Galcon directory, and I definitely haven't been messing with them. There's nothing obviously wrong with them (not 0-byte files or anything weird like that).

Anyone have any ideas?

How do I reinstall games? I've done some research but no luck. Simply throwing away the game folder doesn't work - Steam just hangs forever if you do that and try to launch the game.

To reinstall a steam game, you can either right click on it in the steam menu and click Delete Local Content.

Or you can remove it manually in the Steam Content folder. You also have to get rid of the files that have ncf extensions that have the galcon name in them (and any other files named galcon...)

Wow, how did I miss that option?? (And how did I not find any info while searching the Steam Support site, hmm...) Thanks d10sfan. I'll give it a shot.

Thats strange. Are your permissions set correctly? Did you remove everything that had Galcon in it? Sometimes when you reinstall a game just from steam it keeps old files.

In this case it did remove all the files I saw in the SteamData folder (I let Steam remove/reinstall), but the problem persists. I'm going to conclude that the installation of the game itself isn't the problem. (A reboot isn't the answer either apparently =)

Same problem here.

Galcon Fusion was working fine yesterday. Then the steam update came out last night and now it won't load.

Same problem here. It worked just fine before last update, now it pops up in dock, then crashes. :(

Phil, the developer of the game, said the same problem is happening to him and he has reported it to steam.

Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.
