Will gta 4 come available for mac?

Some say "maybe", some say "never"... Does anyone have more info if (and preferably when) it will become available on mac?

None of the GTA games have ever come to the Mac before, so there isn't presently any sort of precedent for it. You could email Rockstar, the developers, and let them know your interest and/or request if there's any details of a possible Mac version. At present, however, there is no indication that an official Mac port of GTA4 is in development.

This. Also, GTA IV in particular uses Games for Windows Live, which is Microsoft's tech for achievements, DRM, matchmaking, etc. There's always a chance that GFWL could come to Mac at some point, but I doubt it would be anytime soon. Rockstar would have to release a version that doesn't really on GFWL.

Though, who knows what could happen? Anything is possible. Just keep on hoping, I guess, but not too much. :)

Even if it were to come out, the only machines that would be able to play it decently would be the new top of the line iMacs and Mac Pros.

It goes so bad on Windows that if they decide to use Cider/WINE/Nothing it will let us mac lovers in such a baaaaaaaad plaaaaaaaaaace.

Seriously, it's not Valve who you must ask, but Rockstar.

I suggest you going to their webpage, using their contact form, phoning their families.
Indeed, maybe if you get 100000 people to do the same you'll get GTA4 on Mac. (No, no kidding this time).

Rockstar would be the ones that would decide if they would like any games on the mac. With a long history of Rockstar, I think it will probably be a while till we see any game on Mac, but there's always hope.

Max Payne is for Mac, and it uses the GTAIII engine, and is made by Rockstar.

Max Payne uses the MAX-FX engine, actually. While it is published by Rockstar, it was actually developed by Remedy Entertainment.

Interestingly, Max Payne did see a Mac version, and I'd love to see that on Steam, but we're going off-topic, there.
