CIV 4 wont start

just bought civ4 on steam for mac. downloaded and the icon goes on and off the dock flashing and refuses to startup. ive tried reinstalling 4times, and the same thing just keeps happening.

i just bought the new 13' macbook 4months ago and the s.r's seem to be alright..

am i wrong? or should i just contact steam?:confused:

Did you try the thingy in Steam to check the game's contents? There's a right-click option if you click on the game in your Library to validate files or similar.

It's worth a shot, and seems to be an early troubleshooting step they often recommend.

How do you do this? I'm having the same problem. Worked yesterday, not today.

i just validated the files and retstarted and still have the same problem. i noticed when i try to defrag that before it hits 0% it says its complete, which is weird. And im pretty sure the file should be 4000mb not 2000mb(which it states it is).

btw on my steam library it has 2 CIV 4 files and one says "Play" while the other says "this game is not available on your current platform"
