Peninsular campaign coming ?!? [Archive]

So i look in my steam game folder after v1.1 has downloaded and i now have "spa_napoleon" and "nap_spain" folders to go with egy_, eur_ and ita_ with lookup maps of Spain/Portugal territories. A glimpse of things to come maybe? :D

Remember that there were files in Empire: Total War like that which were never used, because they were from pre-release versions of the game for parts of the game that never reached production.

well. i got the DLC and now it says in DLC view section i have Vancouver 2010 the offical game of the winter olympics games. WTF is this?

You don't have to buy it. Seriously.

You've already got a full game which will give you many hours of enjoyment (The main Europe campaign is bigger than most retail games on its own just for one faction), this just adds a bit extra to it. £5.99 for what is probably going to translate to 10-15 hours of play and a load of new units is fine by me.

Also, I note one of the new units is the 95th rifles, Sharpe anyone?

Essentially two campaigns led to Napoleon's down fall...The Peninsular campaign, and the Russian campaign...I have pre-ordered the Peninsular campaign, I hope it is good, the video looks excellent, but then they always do.;)
A street date would be nice, "June" is a bit vague.

It isn't released yet. It is a Steam glitch it's time came on Steam and it added it from Coming Soon to released section (because it doesn't have a release date yet on Steam). It happened for some other games too before. Valve will fix it today.

I know they will fix it but its still very annoying.

I bought it a couple of hours ago and still can't play it.

This is Steam and Valve behaving badly as usual.

Would be nice if they realized how bad and greedy this makes them look.

Reason I bought it was that it was announced as released. The usual lie.

What's taking this DLC so long to be released ? Are they making last minute decisions and making Portugal playable ? I would assume.

They are taking some time to polish it up. There are still 12 days left in June.

I think most of you guys are missing the point. People bought this game as a released game not a pre sale. The game was labled released.

Sir, I heartily concur. I created an account on this forum to talk in this very topic!

Essentially, Steam is a business that sells computer games. Now, like any other business there are rules and guidelines that they should be followed. Most importantly of which is customer service.

Were I to advertise that a product was for "now on sale" and costumers wanted to purchase it, and soon discovered that the staff member said, "oh wait, we made a mistake". Its the stores duty to sell the items to those customers. And maybe quickly fix their mistake before anymore customers found out.

Now the only different between a store and and steam is that there is no customer service what so ever. I dont have a face to talk to, and i certainly dont feel like my customer imput into this business counts for anything.

This has become a common occurrence here. To be quite frank. I only use steam because CA or sega, or whomever has decided to castrate my beloved tw.

This is showing up in my NTW DLC list. I believe it's supposed to be The Peninsular Campaign, but why does it show up like this? Will this affect anything, and will it be fixed?

Well Ive bought it, paid for it... but I cant install it. I dont even get the option to do so, it's like it doesnt exist for me. I've restarted Steam, double checked my purchase history, as far as I can tell I should be able to install this. But I cant. In the list of DLC for Napoleon it says "ValveTestApp34179". Whats that supposed to be?

The Valvetestapp34179 shall probably be the Peninsular campaign.
In a few days it will named correct.
But you don't have to install it yourself, if you bought it it starts to download the update when you start steam, with me it's downloading now.

It probably has that title because it's still in some kind of pre-release mode. It won't effect the way that it plays, is exactly what it should be and has the proper content. The name will probably change over the next day or so once Steam realise what it says.

i payed for the peninsular canpaign even put in comfirmation number to active steam product i keep0 getting some stupid thing saying that napoleon total war isn't working and they're working on it and it will be a ferw minutes, well ! its been a few hours now , the comfirmation number when i try to activate the peninsular campaign is telling me its a invalid code , wtf !

After a quick check, in the MP and SP skirmish list it didn't add any new British units (or French either though I'm not 100% familiar with their units). I was hoping we'd see 95th Rifles available etc. I think there's a glitch with it right now in terms of adding units to multiplayer and skirmish, I'm sure it will be fixed though cause we're supposed to get 28 new units. It does add the Spanish as a faction and changes the main menu to red if that's worth anything. :)

Why the lol? Well I guess maybe we don't get any new multiplayer/skirmish units then since no one else seems to be complaining about this. Seems weird. Why not make at least the 95th rifles playable outside the campaign like other DLC units have been?
