Is it possible?

No. The reason why it's not included is that it would give people with 16:9 screens a larger playing view than those of 4:3 screens, making the multiplayer harder to balance and unfair.

I think that's a bad excuse. Every other modern game offers widescreen support without stretching too. And guess what, it's not that much of an advantage for widescreen gamers.

depends on the kind of gameplay, I can understand why Altitude does force it for all

it would certainly make sniping an advantage for people with widescreen.

Advantage? LOL. So I guess I have an advantage in every single game I play on FULL HD.

Your opinion has been officially voided due to buzz words.

Most games it dosent matter because the field of view change is either small or not even changed at all. With this game, if they went 16:9, then people with widescreens would be able to see more than people with 4:3, which would be an unfair advantage.

It would be nice to see full widescreen resolutions supported, if it can be done in such a way that evens it out.

Simple ruddy solution for those people whinging about "Unfair field of view"

FOG. OF. WAR.

Anything beyond the 4:3 ratio is fogged up, with greyed out after images such as terrain layout.

16:9ers cant see 4:3ers beyond their aspect ratio AND get their tasty Widescreen resolutions.

Someone in another thread had a good idea to give the black bars to 4:3 people like a wide screen movie on an old 4:3 tv. You know, accross the top and bottom instead of left and right.

take away just as much vertical as you are giving the 16:9ers in terms of horizontal. Problem solved.
