Ok well I just purchased the original F.E.A.R. from Steam for $10 and it contains all of the expansion packs.

But when I try to download.
I see this (http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o191/Redfyre08/FEAR.jpg)
As you can see it tries to download 3 separate files, which are ALL 17 GB.

This must be a mistake. Anyone already downloaded one of them and know if it is necessary to download ALL 3?

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous. I will have to pick this up at some point once they get this bug sorted out. It's a fantastic deal, really.

That's not the problem here dude, on the picture each DL is 17 gigs, that's 51GB total!

That's a hell of a lot for, well, any single game/program in exsistence.

I really hope they sort that bug out, I have a huge hard drive, but I won't dedicate that type of space to a single game that should, and is, a heck of a lot smaller.

I (re)downloaded L4D2 and its add-on manager the other day. Said something like 18Gb on the game and 18GB on the addon manager. Total download was in fact 18GB rather than 36GB.

It's just showing the same download 3 times. If you want to make sure, pause the expansions until the main game is downloaded, they'll jump to like 12GB out of 17GB done.

Edit: looking at an other thread, it'll be completely done. Downloading one is downloading all.

Ah if that is the case, then brilliant, I'll get it straight away, thanks. :)

He wasn't banned till after this post. Being banned does not delete all your posts. It does not even delete the post that gets you banned, the moderator must edit or delete it manually.

The following is what I have on my hard drives for the F.E.A.R. games.

6.92 GBs F.E.A.R. And Extraction Point. Extraction Point for me is in the F.E.A.R. folder. My extraction point folder is 1.74 Gigs.

7.23 GBs Perseus Mandate.

3.46 GBs F.E.A.R. Combat. http://projectorigin.warnerbros.com/fearcombat/main

F.E.A.R. Combat was released as a separate stand-alone game that is/was free to download.

Gratz again guys on getting the original games.

If you see this issue, please pause the duplicate downloads for the F.E.A.R. expansions. Once the initial 17gb download completes, all listings should switch to the complete status.

First people beg for FEAR 1 to come to Steam, then people complain that it's too big in file size and that all 3 games come together for ONLY $10!

Seriously?

Go buy a new hard drive if you are that hard up.

Stop copying and pasting this comment, please. You've posted this at least twice and it completely misses the point of both threads.

I've already had all three up and running though I thought FEAR 1 would never start. took about 5 minutes. Once it did though, it ran like a champ.:D:cool:

Thanks Valve for greasing the wheels and getting these games for us.

I had the same thing for Dawn of War 2 Gold (DOW2 + Chaos Rising). Guess it happens as they are different games but due to using the same files it works out fine.

MW2 gave me the same problem, 7GB for SP and 7GB for MP (paused one and when the other was finished, the paused one magically finished)

OP, don't worry. I'm 100% sure it will not be 51 GB ;)

This only shows that it's downloading all three games, basically it's only downloading 15 gigs or whatever, and it thinks it needs 51 gigs

but in the end, you will have only downloaded 15 gigs

for instance, i had something like this happen before, and on a connection of only 150kb/s max download, it thought i was downloading at 450kb/s, clearly this was not the case, it just THOUGH that since all three things using the same data were "downloading" that it was 150kb/s times 3
