Agreed.
I seriously don't care about the MP for this game. The SP and sandbox is enough for me to last for very, very long time.
Please Activision and Valve put this game back on Steam.

I agree, but it was removed for those who have not bought it on Steam because of some licensing/deal stuff.
If you have bought it on steam, you will still be able to download it, etc. But it's no longer for sale.

Well, had potential to be an epic game, at any rate.
Unfortunately the sad lack of animations and spots to perform them meant you couldn't be creative with your movies at all. In the end, your movie ends up the same as everyone else's, same events happening in a different order. Rather bleh.

I think you're in denial. =P
Please put the game back on Steam... T_T I need to get that expansion!
Yes, Even I need that game.
I really want it as well. Removing it from digital distributors is like killing it off. At least from buying it legally.
It's not looking so good though. I contacted Steam support for this and I got a generic robot answer that made no sense. Then I tried Activision support and I got an answer that didn't have anything to do with my question. So yeah, looks like they don't even care anymore.

Yes, it runs in Vista, or at least on my rig. I do get a "this prog has known incompatabilities" message when I install now (didn't on older XP box) and the pop up menus lag a bit (didn't on older box) but other than that it still runs great. I wish they'd make an updated version.

GG is selling a new version for the Mac only now that comes with the expansion, and looks like the multiplayer was replaced with simply being able to upload your movie to youtube. I wonder if the publisher (Feral Interactive) could port this over to Windows? It's good to see it's getting at least some form of revival.
From the Description:
Behind every box office hit is a Hollywood mogul… in The Movies Superstar Edition, that mogul is you.
Starting out at the dawn of cinema, it's up to you to build your studio from an empty lot into a glittering Hollywood empire by producing must-see blockbusters, creating huge stars and giving the movie-going public exactly what they want to see. It's not all award-parties though… you'll need to balance spiralling budgets, fierce competition, and worst of all, actors' egos if you want to make it to the top.
When it's time to start the cameras rolling, settle into the director's chair! The Movies comes packed with tools to help you write and direct your own films. Once you've polished your films to perfection, you can upload them to YouTube and show the world your best shots.
Included in the Superstar Edition is the Stunts & Effects expansion pack, which adds more sets, costumes, props, vehicles and backdrops for your virtual productions, along with a new employee type: the stuntman, and a host of new creative options with which to dazzle the audience.
Welcome to the dream factory, baby!
Call the shots in Tinseltown – Design and run your own studio, from the early days of cinema through to the present day and beyond.
From pitch to premiere – Take full creative control of your movies. Write the scripts, direct them yourself and then edit your movie to perfection.
The part your Mac was born to play – Integration with iTunes lets you pick the perfect track for the scene… or write your own with GarageBand!
BAFTA Award-winning – The Movies for Mac won a BAFTA award in the Best Simulation category.
Top score – A brilliant soundtrack from composer Daniel Pemberton captures the changing eras of cinema, and gets you in the mood to make movie magic.
Show the world your talents – Upload your masterpiece to YouTube and share it with family and friends.

I doubt it. Feral Interactive is only a Mac publisher and Activision still owns the rights the this game. Would Activision do something like that? No, they are probably too busy pushing out two Call of Duties per year. Then again, someone did buy the rights for Psychonauts and added steamworks and made a few changes in the game itself. I might be talking completely out of my ♥♥♥, but it's possible. Hopefully.

I doubt it will be reinstated to steam. Microsoft owns Lionhead now and the movies was first published by Activision before the acquisition. eternal tug of war for publishing rights. I would just buy a copy online.
