How come the 'New Low Ubisoft Prices' advertised on the front of the UK Steam store don't actually show any reductions from previous prices? Seems like a con to me.

Rofl, None of the prices dropped for Australians. It's advertised in the steam store that the prices have dropped but i do not think they have.

To clarify, can someone from the US tell me if these are the same prices in the US store:

- Prince of Persia $29.99
- Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway $29.99
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell $9.99
- Tom Clancy's EndWar $29.99

ETC.

Yeah, it seems only the Euro prices may have been reduced. The USD pricing (even the normal USD pricing and not the insane AU markups) are the same now as they were several months ago.

Wait, so the prices i mentioned above are cheaper in the US store to begin with? I thought the price of these games were at least the same as the US store...

Rofl, welcome to the wonderful world of regional pricing.

Well, it ain't that bad. Most of the prices are the same in AU and US. Just add /?cc=us behind to Steam URL to see the US store. Compare it for yourself.

The prices doesn't show up as sales, they've been decreased permanently. Therefor there is no point showing the old price. PoP was £20, now it's £15 for instance.

I'm talking about everyone else who's charged in USD (like my region in SE Asia). For the record, that Ubisoft price reduction page does not display for the US store.

I dont think the prices were lowered at all. The prices for EU tier 1 are the same as far as i can remember.

If you want the games buy them retail since most if not all are cheaper

This. If you live in the Euro zone, just import from UK retail, it's much cheaper and you get a physical copy. Use this site to compare prices and get the lowest: www.gamestracker.com

I know that SOME if not all of the UK prices did drop.

Heroes Over Europe WAS £29.99 so it's dropped £10
Splinter Cell was £5.99 so it's dropped by a massive £1
HAWX was £19.99 so it's dropped £5

I don't know about the others though.

I had a look at the prices yesterday (AU v US) and all but 2 games, Heroes Over Europe and HAWX (HoE for sure, I think HAWX), were the same as the US price with the 2 games I mentioned being $10USD more expensive in Australia.

Still not much of a drop though.

I am waiting for a Prince of Persia sale. I want that game, but not badly enough to pay 15 pounds.
