Updater not working

I hadn't tried to play the game for months because I had horrid internet, and now that I can I need the latest patch. (I have version 519874) When I run the updater it says "Retrieving version information...", the loading bar fills, then the updater disappears and Battlefield launches on its own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd really like to play again. Thanks.

Can you still play?
If so, then I think it means you're updated

Try verifying the integrity of the game cache. to do that go to the game's properties from your steam library. go to the local files tab. That should straighten you out.

I suppose I should have mentioned that no servers will show up, and I don't have the new browser with the hardcore icons, ability to pick regions, etc.

EA forum seems to be down also. I guess you have to wait until they fix that then try again. Probably an issue on their side.

Edit:

Forget it, its back up. Just could not get in for about 5 minutes. Maybe they are changing something though and that is why you have a problem.
