Do you think this will ever come to mac any time soon?
I could buy it on steam and play it though an old windows laptop I have laying around... and keep my fingers crossed that it will come to mac, or just buy it on PS3?
What do you think would be the best option?

I have it for PS3 and its really fun. If your Windows laptop can run it, it may be a good choice if it ever comes to mac.

Thanks, d10sfan,
The windows Laptop could run it... but not well at all, would only be an interim option until it came out for mac.
Think I might just get it for ps3 then :)

I would get it for steam and use it on the old pc if it runs well enough for you, since it might come to steam with steamplay.

Oh really?
I read that they were thinking about bringing it out for mac, but that might not even be though steam? Who knows. Don't really want to buy it and find it does not come out for mac though.

Gaming on Mac has a new name: Steam!
When Dice comes to port the game for mac, it surelly will be released through steam eather. I suggest you buy it now, play it on Windows and wait for a port for mac in the meanwhile.

Yeah, I found this a while back, sort of the reason I made this post.
Looks like I will dust off the old laptop then and have a play around! :) Cheers lads

Guys, is there any news about BC2 on Mac?
I saw some videos on youtube of it and it is totally awesome and funny. And the sound is...just amazing ( (c) Steve Jobs ).
And one more question: how do you think is it will be playable on my mbp 2008 ( c2d 2.4Ghz, 2Gb RAM and 256Mb 8600M GT) ?

I was speaking about bootcamp, too.
Answer to your question is "Yes, but with low settings."

That would be great as I would also like to know how it fairs up.

Ok, so I just got the game downloaded it and ran it in 1400x900 @ medium, joined a multilayer match ran around and no lag at all. However, when I died and re-spawned my game crashed, I think I read a long ♥♥♥♥ forum post on this before I bought the game, anyone know whats up I am going to go try again :D?

Ok seems, that after restarting the game every things great no spawn problems, I am running everything on high except anti aliasing set to 1x MSAA and anisotrophic filter on 1x, and getting no lag, but I still suck at the game lol.

If it can run quiet well in bootcamp,
why shouldn't it be able to be done native?

Due to some of Steve Jobs' prior bises against games, Mac OS X's graphics drivers and OpenGL implementation are horrible. In addition, most games that originiate on windows are designed for DX, not OGL and the porting house has to use DX to OGL wrappers.

I'm running this in Boot Camp on my 2010 15" MacBook Pro and it runs really great.

But if something runs well in Bootcamp,
shouldn't it run (after being ported) natively also quiet well?
Cause it uses the same processor and graphics card?

If it's fully ported, and QAd well, then the short answer is usually yes.

Unfortunately, BF:BC2 is a EA game, who are "porting" their games with the help of Transgaming with their Cider "compatibility" engine. Or, in other words: no full port, awful performance, barely any QA, no support.

OK I see.
But we can still hope for the best.
Just being an optimist won't bring me further,
but we'll see.
