I'm sure that you could GET it to run on it... But obviously a 12 almost 13 year old game is not going to be ideal on a system that's less than 2 years old...

Lots of people get it to run just fine. You might have to set it to run in Win98 compatibility mode, and there may be some other things you'll have to do (set up a DEP exception, etc.), but it works.

Half-Life on Steam should work under 64-bit Windows 7. You may have to set a DEP exception for it though, a lot of people seem to have problems with Goldsource games and the DEP under 64-bit versions of Windows. Some other tweaks might also be necessary.

Mine seems to run fine along with all other half-life based games. (Counter strike, team fortress classic, day of defeat etc.)

I use an AMD based machine with an ATI Radeon 5700 series.

I play a lot of HL1 on my dual core 64-bit lappy in Win 7. Runs perfectly. A step up from my old Pentium II. :) Mods still work too in the 64 bit environment. I play SVEN with my pop. Decay worked out. Poke 646 runs wonderfully.
