hi there, like the game with what little i have been able to play it.

my problem. randomly it will close to desktop. its not even at the same point each time. i have all my settings up full, does it in both windowed and full screen mode.

That system info isn't really that complete nor helpful. What graphics card, what sound card, etc.

In your Caster game directory in steam (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Caster) open the files LOG and STDOUT in Notepad and paste the contents here.

Also, check to see if you have an stderr file and if so, post its contents. It might help identify the problem.

Shot in the dark, try updating your Catalyst drivers and then turning AA off. See what happens.

STDERR is there but nothing in the file
turned AA off but no difference,i will mess about with drivers a bit later

also whenever it does crash it resets all gfx setting to defaults even if i save quit.

Good good. Let that be a lesson to ya ;)
Keep ALL drivers up to date. Video, Sound, Chipset, Storage, LAN, etc. That will take care of most issues with most computers.

I have a similar problem, although I wish it was just crashing to the desktop. When I've tried to play in the last couple of weeks, my computer randomly shuts down, not crashes to the desktop, it turns totally off.

I'd been playing Caster for a little while and the first and second chapters worked fine. Then I added the mods and tried to play them. It was when I was playing the mods that it started happening. But then I tried the chapters again and it still shut down.

If your entire machine is shutting down, it's definitely a driver issue (most likely the graphics drivers). What platform are you playing on? Linux, PC, Mac?

PC, Windows 2007 to be precise. How would I look up the name of the driver?

Yeah, so Caster uses OpenGL for it's rendering API instead of Direct-X. Sadly, OpenGL sometimes doesn't quite get the attention it deserves when testing graphics card drivers. So occasionally newer graphics cards and operating systems will have issues which are later fixed with updates to the driver.

You can look and see what graphics card you have and then visit the site of the maker of the graphics card and then download the latest drivers for it.

The name of your graphics card should be mentioned on the "Display Settings" screen.

You can also get full stats on your system by running dxdiag.

go to a command prompt and type dxdiag

Once it's done with the analysis, click on the "Display" tab.
