Hey everyone. I have every single achievement in Episode One except for this one, does anybody know the best place to get it done? I didn't notice much (if any) energy balls for the gun except for around 1 or 2 of them at Exit 17.

Well...at the beginning of the game when you are inside the citadel
there are very very very many if not an infinite amount of energy
balls everywhere ;)

Before you get to the core, and while you are stabelizing/contaning
it there should be oportunity enough...I got the "Think Fast" there
but haven't got this Achievement neither yet...

I guess when you run through these enery ball shafts and entering,
or exiting through these small portals where you need to blow out
the door, grab a ball from the shaft, wait in the shaft and shoot
it into the room...mostly 4 - 5 combine in each room...
(I haven't tested this yet, but I think that's the best place for it)

But I guess I will play through the game first and look for that one
later on because I think it could take a while befor you manage
this kind of achievement...

Same question as OP +
does the AR2 altfire count as energy ball?

To my knowlege the altfire of the AR2 IS an energy ball...

That's what the elite combine are firing at you and that's
what you catch + shoot back in "Think Fast!" and also
the same are the energy balls floating through the tubes.

But be carefull, you shouldn't use that when you plan on
getting the "That one free bullet" Acheivement.

(The altfire that is...the floating energy balls are ok
I think...or am I wrong on this one? Because technically
you don't fire a forbidden weapon, you use your GG ;)

I found the perfect place, just go to the beginning of the second chapter (Direct Intervention). And a few seconds after it starts there are a group of Combines, one of them will fire one of the energy balls, just fire it at all of them. Got it my second try. (And now I have all the achievements Awesome).

This part of Direct Intervention.

It's better for them to come to you in the hall though.

Yeah that video is the same place I got it. A helpful thing is to save game just before confronting them, so if it doesn't work you just reload and try again quickly.

I personally like the very beginning of Direct Intervention, when the large door opens up with five guys in a room. No matter what, if you leave them be, one did will alt-fire his AR2. You can grab that and mess them up with it. Just got the achievement there today, the last I needed for Episode 1.

I was able to get it with an AR2 alt-fire of my own, when the zombies burst through the door towards the end of the hospital section.

Yes, the perfect spot! :) It's just before you drop down through collapsing floor. There are 5 zombies there all close together and you can find the energy ball in the previous room with elite soldiers.

Just save before trying in case you miss (it took me 2 tries). You can also reload this save after getting the achievement if you're trying to get "one free bullet". On the other hand, I'm not sure if AR2 alternate would mess up this achievement.

I used this section to get these two achievements, thanks. :)

You never really realize how hard this achievement is until you get all the other ones and notice that you're missing it. It's actually really hard to pull this one off in the Citadel because in Episode One there are so few opportunities..
