I'm excited that the DLC is so well priced. I realize it's only two maps, but still $4 for the entire DLC put together is a great price considering the amount of hours of gameplay you can get out of it.

Thanks for being kind to those who love your game Hidden Path.

Have the game, but haven't played it yet. Even though I shall congratulate you for the excellent DLC price! May this teach big companies who extort consumer in overpriced DLCs! Thanks for the great price!

$0.99 in other games only buys me avatars and clothing! What is this madness!

Hmm...the map pack shows up if I search for it, but shouldn't there also be a link to purchase it from the Defense Grid main store page? Or at least a link to it...right now it's mentioned on the DG store page but the only way to get to it from there is to search for it.

Also, no chance of buying all 8 maps in one purchase, and then simply downloading them when they become available? Four separate purchases seems like a lot of unnecessary credit card transactions for all involved...

Yes, I hope they will make pre-purchase option for $4 for whole map pack. I think this is not so difficult?

You need to put it in context. Don't forget that the entire game is only $10 and many people probably got it for $5.

But, forget about context, talk about the actual value the game has to you personally as a player. I find it's worth much more than $5. After having bought it for $5 I find that I should have bought it a long time ago when it was $20. So, all in all, the value of $4 for 8 more maps is easily acceptable to my standard.

It's all about how much personal value it brings to you, forget the actual value of $4.

If I go to the game page from the main steam store which advertise the map pack, I see I can only buy one map pack - that is map pack 1

But if I go to the original game page - that is the one selling the DG game itself, down there I see I can add all the 4 map packs to cart...

i.e. You only can buy 1 map pack if you visit the page for the resurgence but you will be able to buy the whole set of resurgence maps if you visit the DG game page. That is odd.

Yeah - you can buy them, but they don't unlock until the date specified (i.e. June 9th for pack 2). Keeps the pre-purchase folks happy while still keeping the release exciting for everyone. Best of all worlds.

For those who aren't sure how to buy the DLC...

- Right click on your Steam client, and click Library.
- Click on "Defense Grid: The Awakening" in your games list, then on the right side under "LINKS" click on "DLC".

Or just click on this link...

http://store.steampowered.com/dlc/18500/

To buy all of them at once, click the "ADD ALL DLC TO CART" button at the top on the right side.

Many people, like myself, also bought it for $20 in the year before the price cut.

So it's very well priced in my opinion.

Yes you have to wait a week for each set of new maps.

*snip*

I bought this game at $20 because it was recommended by a mutual friend of the Developers. I ended up buying it for another friend during the Holiday Madness Sale last year, I can't remember how much it was, I think $2.50. That friend of mine has played over 342 HOURS of DGA and has almost all the original Achievements.

Best damn $20 (plus $2.50!) I've ever spent.

Just a little whine. Don't broadcast the release messages for the map packs before they're uploaded to the content servers?
The number of people who must have gone to their steam games list and gone through the hassle of reopening the game, steam, and so on, to find that the map pack wasn't actually released yet must be vast. Why waste people's time? Leave the announcements until the map packs are actually released in future please :P

Killzone is a fun map, challenging (especially once you get a core start travelling up the ramps, near impossible to get it back safely then!)
Overflow is..........hard.

I've got gold on campaign and 40K resource challenge, but all the others are kicking my butt.

For 4 dollars I really don't care in the slightest.

As you know by now, the game going on sale after all the packs were out was part of the plan, but the map packs weren't scheduled to be discounted. It was an error and was quickly corrected.

Yeah, and the majority of these maps are freaking impossible to beat. What a waste.

Ha ha ha ha! Ok . . . . you were serious.

See the thing is, I don't want to discourage people from buying the map packs. It is cool to have new ones and all. The thing is though that the original packs as well as the Borderlands ones serve as training for these.

I am going to take a wild guess and say that you have not beaten the majority of the originals on gold yet? Give it another try and then come back and try these again. See what you think.

I beat the first one. ;)

Edit: I just finished the second map. I found this one easy. Anyone else?

The way maps are sold is very misleading. I expected 4 sets of 8 maps, not 4 quarters of an 8 map pack.
$4 for 8 maps seems expensive to me. It's not like building maps for this game required heavy coding.

$.50 per map seems fair to me. People pay money just for added skins. This DLC adds game content you can play.
