Wow saw some videos on youtube and that mod looks fun. Kinda like Postal 2 meets Half Life 2 lol.

I hope the developers fix the mod I would love to give it a try.

OH GOD THERE ARE NO MORE EXTRA WEAPONS. THE WHOLE POINT OF SMOD IS GONE.

Welcome to three weeks ago. The modders will have to patch the game to make it work. Some of the Smod variations have already released some temp fixes that may fix some of the problems you are experiencing.

You should be able to fix it yourself. Change the mod to appid 215 and extract HL2 content to the mod.

There's an update for several SMOD variants.

SMOD 4.0 works after that, but the older 3.2 version won't work. I prefer this older version. :(

UPDATE: Got SMOD 3.2 to load extra weapons and all - but haven't play-tested the whole game yet obviously.

to do so:

for SMOD 4.0 - use Patch mentioned by PizzaHut above,

for SMOD 3.2 - a little more involved.

- change gameinfo.txt version from 220 to 215
- add 'Game sourcetest' without quotes below Game hl2
- Go To http://nemesis.thewavelength.com - Download and Install GCFScape. (note:this requires .NET Framework 3.5 to be installed 1st if you don't have it)
- when running GCFScape use File - Open
- open the file 'half-life 2 content.gcf'

You'll see a explorer-like tree - click on 'hl2'

now you see on the right 3 folders and 2 files 'bin' - 'maps' - and 'scenes'

right-click on 'maps' folder, then select 'Extract'

a browse menu comes up

"drill down" to program files/valve/steam/steamapps/sourcemods/smod

extract map files there

when done do the same for 'scenes'.

don't extract the 'bin' folder or move those other 2 files, as they're different for Smod.

Hope this helped.

Note: The long SMOD 3.2 instructions will also help for other single-player mods of HL2 that used the old engine.

Which SMOD variant (original, tactical etc) and version (3.2, 4.0) do you have?
