Ok you DID NOT READ at all we CAN NOT OPEN THE DOOR how do you move point to point if the door NEVER EVER opens?
if anyone knows how to make Coop work please let me know my bro and I are stuck and we really only got this game to play it together.
O woops, sorry. I didn't realise you were inside the elevator, I thought you were on the outside trying to get in, my bad. I'm not sure how to help in that case.

Have you tried playing co-op with someone else (heck I'll join you or invite if you like) to test whether it's just a problem one of you is having in terms of your PC hardware?
A lot of folks are reporting problems with Windows 7 64-bit, maybe that has something to do with your issue?
You shouldn't have to do anything to open the door in co-op, beyond just walking up to it (it opens automatically if either player approaches it, there's no switch to use).

Hey I checked official forums, one player had a suggested workaround:
COOP Door will not open
http://forum.team17.com/showthread.php?t=41228
Hey folks, just trying to play coop with a friend and this damn door will not work. There are no prompts as to why it won't open or anything we have to do.
Zeev's Suggestion:
One of you have old pc, try lowering the video settings, and then the player with the old pc need to host the game.
Dont ask me why, but it works.
This would seem to suggest that the game (or Steam itself) has difficulty "synching" two players in co-op if one has an older (i.e, I assume, less powerful) PC than the other, and the guy with the better PC is hosting (meaning the older PC can't "catch up" and therefore co-op can't get started and the door won't open).
I don't know if that makes much sense, but it might be worth a try.

Lol. Oh man, me and my best friend had this problem. I had him uninstall his ZoneAlarm firewall, fixed his disabled IPV6 (free ZA disables it) and we still couldn't get out of the elevator.
Turns out it was XPADDER!

A good reason for us to have (Linux) dedicated servers. It should be very easy to release since it is using the Unreal 3 engine. :D

Dedicated servers for 2 player Co-Op? Doesn't make sense.

It will if they release the SDK so more player slots can be added, persistent campaigns created, etc. *dreams*

Hi
I had the same problem but tried the following to solve it:
Right-click the game in steam and make a shortcut of it at your desktop. Right-click on the shortcut and choose properties. Add the following to the URL-address: -directx9
So it should look roughly like this: steam://rungameid/22610 -directx9
Now run the game using this shortcut.
The problem is that both computers have to use the same version of directx in multiplayer.
This can be configured in steam itself by adding the same line under advanced settings. I'm using the danish version of steam so I do not know the precise translation of the menu buttons.

The directx option changing flag to dx9 did nothing, the only thing that worked was let the "slower" computer host, which isn't what you really want when hosting just makes them run worse.

I've had this problem too. It's really frustrating and makes online co-op a huge pain, especially with people you don't know. Team17 obviously didn't test this game very thoroughly.
