View Full Version : BtDt doesn't start

I'm trying to run Ben There, but it's not working. I get a message from Windows immediately (We're changing your colour scheme to Basic. Will revert when you close that program you just started.) and the game just displays a window border and nothing else. Various other programs (Steam, Firefox) hang a bit as if something's loading, but the game still shows the empty window. Won't respond to my attempts to close the window, either. What can I do?

Win7, x64, WEI-rating 5.9
Hdd is 7200rpm, I have 4GB ram
Intel core2duo E6750 @ 2.67ghz
Sapphire ATI radeon HD 4890

Might try creating a desktop icon, then setting it to run in Windows XP Compatibility Mode... a lot of things don't like to play nice on 64-bit Win7.

Thanks, that makes it run. The mouse pointer is still a bit jumpy, but it's better than nothing.

Hi there!

Just wanted to let people know that I had similar problems, but it got solved by changing screen color depth to 16 bits... Not so easy nowadays, seems that setting is not so readily available anymore...

Hope it helps someone.

I've got a problem as well.
When trying to start BTDT or TGP, a popup opens stating that I must create a save game first in AGS editor before I can play the game.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit

All I get when I start it is a black screen and music. I tried the always useless compatibility program but it didn't work.

Oh the joys of windows 7.
