I just re-installed HL2 to try it out on my 6-core, HD5870 system..

It looks like crap now at 1920x1080, thought this game just got an engine update?

I dont think its that hard to retexture everything, maybe update the models a bit... if they did already I cant tell..

Ah, you're talking about the Fakefactory cinematic mod, and not "the game" (which is why I first wondered why you were talking about Half Life 2 in the mods section).

There are already plenty of other threads about how to help fix your issues. Also, if you don't think "it's that hard to retexture everything" you must never, ever in your life opened the Hammer editor.

Looks great for me,

I can see the difference in the water graphics and the HDR (HDR later in the game). Have the specs all maxed out and multicore rendering enabled also,
