Yea I'm in Aus so I bought Max Payne 1 on eBay. Being shipped now including postage for about 10 bucks Aus money. Will buy part 2 next week.

I think it's more to do with the publisher: it's not like Max Payne is banned in Australia. If you know someone in the UK or US with a Steam account, then they can gift the game to you. Work out how to transfer some cash, or gift them a game in return.

Still not available to aussies. Anyone have an idea why they region block titles like this considering this is an old game and highly unlikely to be available at retail stores (unless very cheap)?. If anything they would lose potential sales due to this policy :(.

Google for 'proxy server list' and use a proxy to get it. This should make it appear as if you were in the country of the proxy and get you around steams region detection.

Great news, but it's bad timing. I would have liked to buy the Rockstar Complete pack during the Christmas sale and now that Manhunt, Max Payne and GTA are available here, the pack probably would have been too :(

By the way, isn't it especially ironic that the Max Payne 2 executable contains a hacker group signature?
