Like many people i have huge performance problems with blur. On The following system the sound is stuttering al the time, also the game menu/GUI is stuttering. especially on track, when somethingn happens like i'm crashing tinto a mine or some other gfx effects it's stuttering very hard, even when choosing minimal graphics settings and low res.

Athlon 64 X2 6400+
GF 8800 GT GS (1GB)
4GB DDR2
Windows Vista 64bit

I Updated to the latest nvidia drivers, disabled all but the primary monitor, closed other applications and services etc but nothing helped yet.

THEN, I booted my vindows 7 preview version (which has expired but still works xD) and using this operating system blur runs fine without any problems on max. settings and high res.

but would be still awesome to not have to boot another os to play blur...
and more suggestions how to make it run fine under vista?

Lol, 6 mb :P I think you mean 6gb ??? :P

Why not have 6gb if ram, if the person has a 64bit OS then it will use all the ram that is there, 4gb is standard now, anyone who has below should really get to 4gb.

14 years ago I bought a computor that had 32mb of ram and the salesman said that was all I would ever need, even for games. Considering 16mb of ram at the time was alot.

So yeah today 6g of ram seems overkill, tomorrow it may be 6gigs to little.

haha good catch, I'm loopy on bourbon so yeah, 6 gb is what I meant.

EDIT: and I'm running 2GB RAM on windows XP for almost three years now and I haven't had any problems to be honest. The only reason I could see running 4+ gB would be if you're running Vista 64-bit and even then I would just as soon advise someone to switch OS rather than get more RAM.

I get a bit of stuttering wit the graphics also, not sound though, and my comp is way above rec. specs.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
i7 860
ASUS 5870
4GB RAM

Not only that but my logitech rumblepad isnt recognised, which is annoying.
Can't believe they are trying to charge Aussies $65US for this game. The racing is rather boring and slow. Hope they release a new Need for Speed which brings back the cop chases that are missing from NFS:Shift.
