Hello all, I previously played through Fallout 3 on the Xbox over a year ago near its initial release and racked up 880 gamer points before I returned it to the video rental store. I love PC games, graphics, and capabilities so I wanted to replay Fallout 3 a couple more times to check out all the DLC content and the game from a PC perspective, and for 25 dollars this is literally a steal. I had assumed it was likely that I could pick up where I left off on gamerscore for Fallout 3 from the Xbox using GFWL, however it has instead created another Fallout 3 category in my games list. So now I have Fallout 3 listed twice, 1 of which has 880 points and the other of course, has zero. Is there anything I can do to merge these? I'll probably just get all the achievements again, but it took a long damn time to find all the bobbleheads and such.

No, they count as completely different games. It was the same for all the other GFWL titles. It even counts different languages of the same game as different games, so if you ever see a true gamerscore addict online, they'll probably have the same game 2 or 3 times...

Well I could probably find this out by thorough searching, which I probably am going to do anyway, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to post here too...
Seeing that F3 GOTY is on discount I thought I should finally get it, but before I do I have a question:
Does Fallout 3 GOTY (Steam version of course) require Games for Windows Live in any way? (No I don't care about the achievements). I'm probably gonna get it either way but I'd much rather I didn't have to use both Steam and GFWL at the same time...

If a game is GFWL it will use it. So yes, it does on Steam and anywhere else you may buy it.
I've got a number of GFWL games through Steam, and haven't experienced a problem yet, the only GFWL game I have had a problem with was Lost Planet Colonies, disc version (couldn't update). So if my experiences are anything to go by, you won't have anything to worry about.

Well that's good to hear, thanks for the info.
Edit: Actually I just read up that there are mods that disable GFWL alltogether, gonna go over to the Fallout 3 Nexus to see what this is about.
Either case I just purchased Fallout 3 GOTY :)
