Is Morrowind Windows 7 compatible?
Can it run 1600x900 (or similar)
Is it worth getting? (I've beaten Oblivion)
Will it work on an ATI 4870?
And is there a way I can use my Xbox 360 gamepad?
1. Not sure, but i believe so (seems so looking at other threads)
2. theres a way to edit registry to change resolution, so it should be able to with some tinkering
3. for 5 dollars? hell yeah!
4. Most likely
5. Not sure

1) Yes, Morrowind works just fine on Windows 7.
2) Yes, it can run in 1600x900, just edit your registry setting for Morrowind in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind and then find the "Screen Height" and "Screen Width" entries and set them to the native resolution of your monitor. Just right click on the entries and go to "Modify" and then select decimal for the base value and enter in your values for the height and width.
3) Yes, Morrowind is definitely worth getting, especially for only $5. I have played Morrowind off and on for the past 6 years and still am not tired of it, I just recently created a new character in fact. I have probably put in over 400 hours into the game and still haven't even beat the main campaign (I like to screw off and do side-quests and dungeon crawl a lot).
The GotY edition has both expansions which should last you for a good 100+ hours and then there is an extensive modding community with many high quality mods to further extend the life of the game. For example there is a mod called "MGE" or Morrowind Graphics Extender (http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1094925-morrowind-graphics-extender-mge/), that allows for infinite view distances (like oblivion) and other enhancements. Planet Elder Scrolls (http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/) and the Morrowind Forums (http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/86-iii-morrowind/) are a great place to look for mods and to also get involved with the community (which has many more suggestions and tips for extending the life of the game than just installing mods).
With a little bit of work it is actually possible to make Morrowind look almost as graphically pleasing as Oblivion (using some texture mods, better bodies and MGE).
4) Yes, I myself have a ATI Radeon HD 4870 and it works just great running Morrowind.
5) Well, gamepads aren't officially supported but you could use something like JoyToKey (http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm) to map the keyboard controls to your Xbox360 gamepad. Personally I would suggest using the mouse though, if you can get used to it it is the best way to control Morrowind in my opinion.

Where do I find the HKEY-etc. etc. folder?

That's a registery key. Start -> Run -> Regedit (or press windows key + r and type regedit) You'll find it there but be careful. I suggest you use MGE to change resolution if you don't know where HKEY is. It's easier, less dangerous and you can also change FOV with MGE. You can find it here (http://tes.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=41102).
This page (http://www.somethingfornobody.com/2011/morrowind-modding-guide/) also holds instructions about using a xbox gamepad with Morrowind.

I found the resolution values in Windows 7 64 bit at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind

You're in a Morrowind forum, stealthwolf. You're probably gonna get a lot of "hell yeah!!" answers to your 3rd question. ;)

Sorry, my bad. I just picked up Morrowind again, and I bumped all these threads with my comments... I'll stop. :o
