This is normal. Just wait a few hours and try again. The servers are overloaded from the Mac users downloading Team Fortress 2....

I'm getting this same problem, only now it's months after the mac update. The game downloads perfectly fine until I shut my mac off and try to start downloading again after it reboots. Any solutions?

Does it stay suspended if you try to run it?

Does anyone have a solution? I think the problem lies within the sourcegcf files, but I don't know which one. When I open up steam, it says "Validating counterstrike file (1 of 1)" and stops at 0%. The same message pops up when I try downloading tf2 or css. It stops at 0% and says steam servers are too busy.

It did before I uninstalled TF2 (it was at about 70% when I got this problem and uninstalled it). The suspended message took the place of the "Paused" message when I clicked resume download. If you open steam and click on library and then downloads, you'll see what I mean.

Any ideas? I gave about as much information as I can give.

I've been having the same exact problem with multiple games. If I quit steam and come back to a game that is already downloading, the download instantly suspends.

I've tried changing the setting on how fast my internet connection, which has helped with various other problems I have had with downloading on my mac or windows. However, this has not helped with the issue. I think, like ineedalifetoday, that this may be a problem with overloaded downloading servers, but I have no idea. I'm just tryin to download a game for resources on Garry's Mod. :D
