If your game crashes or is very stuttery or slow try unplugging any USB gamepad/joypad/joystick stuff you might have plugged in. I just randomly found out that having my usb gamepad adapter plugged in made the game crash on startup and/or made the menu run very laggy. If you have similar problems I suggest you unplug any usb devices like gamepads that you might have plugged in.

Perhaps the developers can look at this and make a fix?

Hmm, not seen this reported anywhere else yet. Does anyone else have this problem? Mozzer, what exactly did you have plugged in that caused the problem, might be a specific hardware problem we can look into.

I don't know if this is related, but when I bought Dirt2 for my dad recently and let him borrow my xbox controller, his computer would bog down and only with the controller plugged in.

It turns out that windows was recognising the headset hardware in the controller, which was causing it to freak out as it tried installing or running audio stuff. Once we installed the controller properly it worked fine.

That's why Microsoft says to install the drivers before plugging in the controller.
