It is still possible to move when Mustachio is shooting the cannon ball in lvl 9 "Thar She Blows". It is possible to kill yourself without even knowing that you are doing it. I shot myself out of the cannon (into the water I guess) resulting in my death.
Perhaps consider freezing the players movement when they are off screen for events like this.
