What the crap is this? I get like 4 seconds to look at my cards and play or I lose my turn? How do I turn this stupid BS off as it should be defaulted to?...

Hit spacebar to pause the timer, if you need to. If the timer is running automatically, that means there is nothing else you can do and it's auto-advancing the turn.

I gotta say, the first impression of this game is very horrible. I might just have to load up my Microprose game and play it instead. I think some windows XP update made it so you don't have to run a CPU killer to play it at the correct speed...

Not too impressed here either with the whole phase timer concept. Is there any way to switch this off and use a simple 'click next to continue' button ideally linked to a keyboard shortcut? It's really tedious having to wait for the timer to expire every phase when nothing much is happening.

(Don't know about an XP update but one option for running the Microprose original is Windows 98 + VMware player, works pretty well ;))

At start I was in rage coz I didn't speed up to use my card if necessary, but now I can see, that it's pretty useful.

you can actually disable it. go into gameplay settings and turn 'hold priority' off. then you'll need to click continue all the time. hope that helps

yes, the timer is annoying as hell for newbies like me. Will try the "hold priority" setting as suggested above.

Thanks, but that's not quite what I'm looking for - although it adds a 'continue' button on my phases there's still timers everywhere. When playing the computer I would like to be able to kill the timers completely.
