Are NFS Shift performance problems with ATi hardware solved?

The demo ran like crap and according to posts in their forums ATi users were the only ones getting poor performance and since there's a sale tomorrow I'd like to know if the problems still persists or not.

Q9550/ATi 4870 1GB.

I have the Sapphire 4870 1gb. When Shift came out, it ran like ♥♥♥♥ on my system. I played for a while, but I ended up giving up because it was like a slide show sometimes. I came back to it after a couple of months, and it worked like butter. You should be fine if you decide to pick it up. It's worth it.;)

It was fixed in the first game patch, everything runs nice and smooth on my 4850. And yes, the performance was terrible for me before that certain patch.

it was the 2nd patch, & cat9.11 helped too (i'm 4870x2)
