netbook loading issues

So I'm on an Eee with the dual core atom and nvidia ion chip. Runs half life 2 at high settings with 25-40 fps.


I fire up the game, it shows the loading screen, pops past the wizards screen, and then gets to the stainless screen and hangs there forever.

Can't figure out why. It won't budge from that screen, and freezes there every time.

Windows 7 home premium 32 bit.

Bumping. Still won't work after driver update

My computer is amazing, it's fast it has one of the best video cards, 6gb of ram, all that but this game is still slow on it I don't understand why.

I thought I hade problems at first, the game takes forever to start. Unlike you my screen is black for ~1-3 minutes before the company logos appear. Have you tried waiting for a ridiculous "long" time?
