Fallout 3 GotY Edition, Games for Windows Live update loop

Hi.

Games for Windows Live always tells me there is an Update for Fallout 3. 1.7 Update runs through, stays in background, starts Fallout 3, i exit, Patcher closes, done.

I start Fallout 3, same as above.

How do i see my Version? After 6 times patching it MUST be 1.7.

i had the same problem with kane & lynch, so i downloaded the client from microsoft

http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-us/live/Pages/livejoin.aspx

installed it, started the game and it worked. i hope it works for you, but that's what i did when i had this infinite loop.

Thanks for your reply! The GfWL Client is up to dare, but the game itself needs an update, well if you believe GfWL ^^ But i try it anyway, as soon as i get home.

Hi, I have the same problem, and benoski's solution didn't help.

I have found, that after updating a couple of times, the game will start automatically again, and in that instance you can log in to GfWL.

If you close the game again and open it up again the game will again refuse to log in because it claims that I need to install an update, but if you have already logged in once you can refuse the update and go into offline mode.

And offline mode will at least give you access to your save games.

Still it is kind of annoying that every time that I start the game the first thing I have to do is cancel the GfWL update.
Is there no fix to get rid of that?
