People are already playing and live streaming.. I REALLY don't understand what EA is thinking. Steam already has the cdkeys ready to release... we don't even need to use their redeem site.
What the hell EA.

Right now it seems everyone at EA doesn't have a clue were the key to the safe is that has the magic button in that will send a magical owl to teh steam HQ and tell them they can release our damn game already!

Or, they're purposely screwing with us so that people will go buy from their store (and they won't have to pay steam fees for that copy). Typical EA

I would put my money on EA, screwing steam buyers so they go to the EA store. Just as others have already noted.

It's exactly what's happening, and it's working, too.
It's a sick method in which to do business, knocking the little guys out.
You know what I notice and it's quite refreshing, EA are a bunch dog ♥♥♥♥s who couldn't give a flying fark about any of it's consumers.
GOD DAMN IT STEAM STOP FARKN US AROUND.
I'm crackn, I'm crackn fellas.
I apologise.

Steam isn't the little guy, they have very little competition. The EA store is the little guy here but they're just playing dirty.

What were you expecting?
This is SOP for Steam.
Watching the live feed though it's like BFBC2 rush spam and confined spaces all over again...

Valve must have the ability to just release the game, for them to run a front page ad on steam they must have got more than just a small agreement from EA.
They shouldn't have agreed to a further "can I haz release codez now?"

...
No, an hour or 2 is. This though, this is an entirely different ball game. Obviously there's foul play here.
It's not about playing right now man, I mean that. It's about taken my money, promising me a product on a specific date and then not coming thru with the goods because of a sleeping giant who bullies and Steam allows the r.a.p.e to happen.
This could be the beginning of the end for Steam and they prob know this. Control is a massive powerful element in the business world, seriously.

No idea how people are playing. The beta redeem does not work at all... for anyone. Retail, steam, regardless. It does NOT WORK and has nothing to do with Valve or Steam. EA screwed up the beta launch. End of story.

I read somewhere that you use your code to get the beta code, or something like that and that's why a lot of people are getting invalid code errors.

Maybe you should go look at the other 10-15 available live stream and tell me that again. End of story. It's available right now. Even people who JUST bought the game from EA can redeem their code and play.
EA is definitely screwing with Valve so that they can make more money.

Interesting. I just realised we've been butt FARKED.
Man it fires me up to realise this is happening, not Steams fault in anyway. They're prob sitting back watching us moan like a bunch of bitcz disappointed with EA just like we are. And anyway, if Steam thought we were on the wrong path in regard to our views they would've already closed this thread.
It's settled.
So now we just wait it out and do not give in to going to EADM.

ea down and dirty.
technically ea is probably thinking they can hold out steam keys for another 3-6 hours and still reach their agreement.

I won't, I don't feel like giving them extra money for the crappy service they gave. Back to HoN!

This is a quote from the Steam store page fore Medal of honor:
VALID ONLY AT EA STORE (WWW.EASTORE.COM) AND PARTICIPATING RETAILERS. CUSTOMERS WILL BE EMAILED THE BETA CODE ONCE PRE-ORDER IS PLACED, STARTING JUNE 17, 2010 OR HANDED THE CODE WHEN THE PRE-ORDER IS MADE AT A RETAIL STORE.
Of course, EA lists Steam as a participating retailer. Last I checked, my pre-order was placed, and it's june 17. My inbox is just as empty as it was last night.
Class action lawsuit, anyone?

I have a key. Steam version came up. Currently Steam people can play more reliably than retail. I bought retail and have a key that does not work anywhere. Stop making ♥♥♥♥ up.

Not for me. How can I link up my copy of BC2 that I bought in the EA store with my steam account?

From what I understand, me getting a beta code has nothing to do with me owning BC2 on steam.
Now, using that beta code with steam is a different story. But then I thought I'd just go on the EA website and register it with my EA account that has BC2 on it.

No, Steam early beta is only for those who own BC2 on Steam. When you buy from another retailer, you get a redemption key, which you can redeem for a beta key that can be attached to your EA account for early access. Steam does not give you that redemption key

If that is the case, why didn't they just put that on their page instead of all that bull about receiving an email?

This is DIRECTLY from the Steam Store page for MOH:
Pre-purchase and get early access to the beta, starting Jun 21st. Also own Battlefield Bad Company 2 on Steam? Get beta access starting on the 17th!
How you missed that, I'm not sure. It's right next to the buy button

Access to the beta and beta key are not one and the same. I did not expect to get access to the beta through steam. I did expect to get a beta key that I could use on the EA website.

Steam never said they would give you a key, you're assuming that they would give you a key.

They did this with BC2 as well, I made more then a few threads about it. They also will shaft you on steam patches as well. Welcome to scummy EA and DICE.
