Can't use HL1 Cheats.

Yep another small issue *sigh*

I have recently bought the Half Life: Anthology Pack from Steam.

However for some reason in none of the games will cheats work.

I have console enabled from options, I press the ~ key, I type in sv_cheats 1, then whenever I type in a cheat nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong?

Ive tried every Impulse and none of them work, also Noclip will almost never work either.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Edit: And for the record I have already beaten the games. I just want to use them for fun.

In HL1 the system works but with one extra step.

You need to open the console, set cheats on. SAVE THAT GAME.

Load that game, then open the console and get your cheat code. It should work.

It didn't work for me.

Could you write a better step by step? Maybe I did something wrong?

Edit: I can get noclip....but nothing else. Not even an Impulse.

Are you sure you're not being given the weapons?

I tested something in HL2 recently and used impulse101. I didn't give me the gravity gun or the AR2, because they hadn't been unlocked in the game, yet? Don't know if the same mechanic is used in HL1 or not.

Nope no Impulses are working whats-so ever.

Not 101 or anything else.

Not even simple 200 that puts your gun away.

Put developer 1 in the console. For some reason, this has to be enabled to make cheats work. (At least for me).

Sorry, forgot to mention to type it in before you start your game, in the main menu by using the console. Then load your game by either a load or go to a map. I'm going to check this just to make sure.

Edit: Also, I have -console and -dev in the game launch settings (right-click the game in Steam, Properties, Set Launch Options). I think that's how it's working for me. You can also try putting -sv_cheats 1 in the launch options as well.

Edit 2: I'm confirming this working for me. I have -console, -dev, and -sv_cheats 1 in my launch options. I can give myself all weapons in the opening tram sequence.

try using sv_cheats 1 at the main menu, or just loading a game, typing sv_cheats 1, and then typing restart in console, and they should work.

I've found that sometimes impulse 101 and some other cheats get broken for no reason sometimes :mad:

I just have to put in sv_cheats 1, then reload save, then I can use cheats. Some of them don't work however, so I will try to use those launch options.
