Well, I was wondering if you really can't play the co-op campaign without buying a gamepad? It is sad enough, that there is no online co-op, but why the fu*k do I have to buy a gamepad?!
Maybe there is some program that swindles a gamepad for the PC, so you actually can play the co-op campaign without purchasing one?
Plz Help :)

I really looked for what you are asking for some days ago but couldn't really find any. The only thing I found that might work but I couldn't be bothered to try was a thing called PPjoy with another program called Glovepie. But too much hassle in the end -_-

Me and a friend tried to use a VPN connection to at least "simulate" a co-op. Nothing. With every program we tried the game graphic didn't showed up on the client side.
This just killed our first idea: the remotization af an USB port to be played from a "client game-pad" and the use of a VPN connection to play.

Actually, this game is a good excuse to go out and buy yourself a gamepad if you don't already have one. They are not that expensive and this game plays really well with one. I did the entire campaign with keyboard and mouse, then dug out my gamepad for co-op. Turns out I like playing with the gamepad much better than the keyboard. Remember, this game was designed for the X-Box.

Also, the gampad can be used for lots of other games. I like to use mine for racing and flight sim games. Mine is a Thrustmaster Firestorm, but I'm sure there are lots of other good ones out there.

Well, I guess I need to modify my previous statement.

Since I liked using the gamepad in co-op I decided to start using it in the regular campaign. Unfortunately, I can't find any way to select the gamepad as the default controller. It seems that you have to use the keyboard in the campaign and the gamepad can only be used in co-op?

Or you can buy something cheap for $10 or less.

It's not exactly optimal but a joystick like the ones for flight and mech sims works too.

Well, to all of those who just recommended some different gamepads or other controllers:
Thanks for your consideration, BUT
I don't own any x-box, playstation, gamecube, wii or any other console. I don't like playing with gamepads. If I would like to play with a gamepad I would have bought a console long ago. And don't answer now with something like "but gamepads are much better than keyboard and mouse!!!111oneoneeleven". Don't feel offended now, I just don't like it.
The question was to play co-op without gamepad ;P
But thanks anyways for your advice :)

*Bump*

While waiting for WotC to fix this game, I found a program called VJoy, from Headsoft, that emulates a gamepad using your keyboard. You can download it in their website, http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=vjoy

This seems to be working great so far. It even works on x64 (not very common due to driver signing issues)

So at least you can play locally without a gamepad now.

Before you do such a thing try to gather some information first. 3D graphics don't show up on the client side because the graphics driver usually get either downgraded or it's simply not transferred because of bandwidth. My advice: Don't waste time on such efforts, it'll get you nowhere.
