side quest error help

when I play the game in single or multiplayer any side quests I get can not progress. I started a new game and every side quest stays gray even after I complete the conditions. an example is the dowry necklace quest, I talked to the merchant and got the quest, went in the cave killed the red guy, got the necklace, but I can not turn it in. The merchant says the same lines as if I had not moved away from him. anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Never play a multiplayer game with a character you are unfinished with on single player. It screws quests up, especially if you're jumping around. Go to the titanquest.net forums and search for SoulSeekor. Theres a thread I know showing how to reset quests.
