I was thinking of getting this today as it is $6 or so, but came to look at the forums and see nothing but bug complaints. Is this game working for ANYONE?

rofl he takes one mans word for it

but yea think about it this way, many o' gamers claim this is the best RPG ever or top3 whatever, metacritic score of 86 with user score of 9.1, bugged to hell games do not get scores and praise like that.

I was waiting for this to go on sale, buying this puppy right now:D

The older a 3rd party game is, the more likely that the only posts here are gonna be technical issues.

It's a great game. It can occasionally crash though, so quick save is your friend. The save files are kinda large too(about 15 megs each), so cleaning out your old saves is also your friend :)

You've got to remember also that people who don't run into bugs don't make a thread saying "Hey! I didn't run into any bugs!" but if someone does get a bug, no matter how small, it is, "THIS GAME IS SO BUGGY I CAN'T EVEN PLAY IT!!!!11oneoneoneeleven" But yeah, this game for $6 is damn near criminal.

All versions of this game has worked fine and dandy for me, but that was with nvidia. I'm gonna try with my new ati card soon and hopefully it'll work.

No need to worry about nasty bugs. And get it while you can, it's worth the normal price, let alone the discounted one :P

Over 1.5 million copies sold. PC only game. Do you think that bad game would have such high sale numbers?

The only people who come to the forums are the people who have problems, most of the people are playing away in their happy little Witcher world (btw it works.)

I had to fiddle for DAYS to get this game working right with my 8800GT SLI. Holy crap, lighting was just radiating through walls and I had to scour the intarwebs for a solution. I believe I fixed it with using a different form of SLI forced through the nVidia command window.

And then I proceeded to love me some mother ♥♥♥♥ing Witcher for weeks.

This is a fantastic game. And runs great for me, not a single hitch. An absolute steal at $6 as someone else said.

beat this game last week and didn't have a single issue with it. Win 7 X64. 50 + hours I played it id say that's damn good. I saw it was on sale for 6 bucks i came here to tell the people asking if its worth it. So here I am. Its well worth it.

I've had the game for several months now and I've played it on and off. I'm only about half way through it (yeah... I know I play slowly), but it has only crashed to desktop twice. Both times the game had just recently auto-saved and I was back and running just as quick as I could restart the game. I couldn't reproduce either of the crashes. It's not perfect, but how many games are?

Keep in mind that forums are usually full of complaints because nobody starts a thread to say how wonderful it is that the game didn't crash. It's called the vocal minority. I'm having fun with the game and haven't encountered any show stopping bugs.

Anybody know what the DRM is on this version? I believe the 1.5 patch removed DRM from the boxed game so buying it on Steam effectively adds DRM again, but that's ok I guess. I'm worried about the whole activating thing, does the Steam version need activation? Thanks for any info.

It gives you a CD key, but I haven't seen any where to put it.

I have played it since it first came out (ie from version 1.0) and I never had a single crash. And that was 2 different PCs.

Radeon X1950 Pro and Radeon 4870 - everything's just fine.

I played through the whole game. Sure, it did crash from time to time, but it works nicely. You have to know that people who don't have anything to complain usually don't go to the forums saying "Man, I have no bugs".
