Is anybody else getting a problem with Batman: AA crashing on exit? When I exit the game, my computer completely locks up. I hear the Batman music playing, but the screen goes black, and won't respond. The mouse cursor is "moveable" for a little while, but then that eventually locks up too. I can't ctrl-alt-del out of it, either. I've even left it for 30 minutes, but it's so locked up it requires me to power down the PC.
When I first installed B:AA via Steam, I had a LOT of stuttering, and the framerate was so low that I couldn't even play it. I also remember it locked up when first installing Windows Game Live (I never had it on my system before). I then uninstalled/reinstalled both B:AA (through Steam) and Windows Game Live (via add/remove programs and then downloading directly from M$), but I still get the crash on exit. I've also tried running Windows Live Game before starting B:AA, figuring it's a problem with Live. Sometimes I can't even launch B:AA via Steam, so I find it's better to go directly to the executable in my Steam directory to launch the game (thanks to a hint from another post in this forum).
I'm running it on my PC with WinXP, AMD Athlon X2 5600+, BFG 9800GT Eco, 2 gig RAM. I've run other Steam games with no issues (Half Life 2 runs great, for instance), and I've had no other lockups/crashes. My framerates in B:AA aren't great, but the game is usually playable (with occasional stuttering in the cutscenes).
I moved my Steam directory earlier this year to another (larger) drive - so it's not on my C: drive. That hasn't caused problems for any other Steam games, however.
